WALNUT & FENUGREEK GOUDA, MERCER CHEESE
Walnut & Fenugreek Gouda by Mercer Cheese is very unique and hard-to-come-by gouda, with a soft creamy texture and a generous sprinkling of walnuts and fenugreek. Mercer Cheese was founded by Dutchman Albert Alferink who has been turning his neighbour's milk into varieties of delicious Dutch-style cheese for nearly 40 years from a factory he built himself. Savour and enjoy!
SUNSET BLUE, KINGSMEADE
Sunset Blue by Kingsmeade has a warm, buttery texture with hints of lime and is made with pasteurised cows milk, using vegetable rennet. It has the natural product Annatto added to give it the distinctive apricot-blue colour. This radiant blue cheese is a favourite of many. This cheese was enjoyed by Prince William a few years ago at the Prime Minister's banquet, and - according to the chef - he came back for seconds.
TRIPLE CREAM BRIE, OVER THE MOON DAIRY
It's an extra-special and extremely loveable heart-shaped version of Over the Moon Dairy's Triple Cream Brie made just for you. This cow's milk brie is the South Waikato-based cheesemaker's most popular cheese, and occasionally they produce it in 140gm hearts. Its buttery unctuousness and melt-in-the-mouth texture makes it the perfect cheese-platter-cheese (if you can avoid eating it all on your own).
HUNENE (TRUFFLE HAVARTI), GRINNING GECKO
Hunene translates to delicious, delectable and luscious in Te Reo Māori. The mild flavour and creamy mouthfeel of Havarti is the perfect vehicle for the decadence of black truffle. The truffle is mixed into the curd by hand and hand hooped into smaller hoops - one of few natural rind cheeses, aged for 100 days while being washed and turned weekly by cheesemaker Zev. Another standout star on a cheeseboard or a great melting cheese over hot potatoes, pasta or used in a risotto to add complexity and indulgence.
